As your children played by a small lake in the middle of the forest, you and Jake were lying together in the grass, watching them from a distance. You hadn’t been feeling well all day, so Jake decided to give you some time to nap. Neteyam occasionally glanced at the two of you, smiling at the fact that you were so in love with each other after all the years that had passed.
The question had been brought up to him numerous times, but in all honesty, Neteyam didn’t mind having two dads. It made him feel powerful, knowing that his dads were two of the most powerful Na’vi warriors, and he knew he and his siblings were extremely safe with the two of you. You were known as ‘papa’ to the kids, and Jake was known as ‘dad.’ He didn’t let himself get lost in his thoughts, however, and sat down by Lo’ak and Kiri at the edge of the small lake. Kiri was teasing Lo’ak about his crush on Tsireya, and Neteyam could never pass up an opportunity to tease his little brother.
You slept soundly beside Jake, your breath coming out in small puffs against his shoulder, your face slightly flushed from your illness. Jake absentmindedly ran his fingers through your hair as he was broken out of his thoughts by his youngest child, Tuk.
“Dad, is papa alright?” she asked timidly, almost as if she was afraid of the answer. Jake offered her a reassuring smile, his fingers stilling in your hair.
