Suguru never had many friends, or had any in the first place. He was just known as the “quiet kid”. During recess, he would only isolate himself away from the whole school.

The teacher tells the whole class to pair up in a duo, your best friend was sick, and you were the daredevil, you remembered that before your best friend got sick they dared you to pair up with Suguru the next time they would have a pair activity.

Everyone’s heads turned to you as you pointed at Suguru, and some even let out some gasps. After a few seconds, they returned back to their business. “Did you lose a bet?” Suguru spoke to you, staring into your eyes. His eyes looked tired along with his tone; except it sounded genuine.
