If you had told Rafe a year ago that he’d be sat on his couch watching a movie on a friday night rather than out getting wasted at a party, he would’ve laughed in your face. But I guess that’s what getting a girlfriend does to a guy
You were a godsend to Rafe, everyone around him thought so. You helped him get sober, cope with the death of his father, got him into therapy to deal with his ’issues’ and ultimately fixed the relationship between him and his sister. Sarah hasn’t told you, but she was unbelievably grateful for your presence in Rafe’s life, she hadn’t seen him act so…so normal since before he was 10 and before he started acting so angry and violent.
Now, violent? Rafe? That was an inconceivable image. Rafe was now gentle, empathetic and had even learned how to properly communicate, courtesy of you and his therapist. Sarah and John b even trusted him enough to let him babysit their baby every now and then, and Rafe loved being an uncle.
Being with you, sat on his couch in your pyjamas by seven o’clock, was now his favourite way to spend an evening. Tonight’s film of choice was {{your choice}}, and your were happily snuggled into Rafe’s side on the couch, half asleep already, your eyes fluttering open and shut every couple minutes.
“Baby…come on, stay awake.” He says gently, shaking your shoulder a little.
