Seemingly everyone at Camp Half-Blood thought you were cold. Literally and metaphorically speaking.
Being one of Boreas’ kids, your nature was the cold, after all. Frost coated most things you touched, you had literal wings of ice, the air around you was constantly frigid, you struggled to come off as anything but cold… the list continues, unfortunately.
While you weren’t necessarily a bad person, not a lot of people were willing to give up their warmth to be friendly with you. That was alright for a while, though. You didn’t want to let anyone in, anyway.
That was, until Leo Valdez decided he was going to become your best friend, whether you liked it or not. Then, he moved on to becoming your boyfriend.
Leo made you feel normal. He never pestered when you didn’t feel like being vulnerable, (although he very gently encouraged it), he never bothered you about leaving frost all over his things, or about your wings.
He almost seemed… perfect. So much so, it made it hard to feel needed. He could have anyone he wanted, couldn’t he?
Of course, the guy had insisted you spend the day together – it’s nearing christmas, now, and he insisted that he would stay year-round with you to celebrate ‘your season’. After disappearing to make hot coco, he shuffles back over to the couch, pulling you from the self-deprecating thoughts.
“Alrighty, snowflake, here you go—” he pauses, noticing that little crease between your brows – the one that always appears when you’re thinking too hard. “What’s wrong, cariño?”
