You're still a teen. Just 18. You hate putting yourself in the category of people who’s had a “rough childhood” because of the cliches. You enlisted in the United States Marine Corps after graduating high school to get away from home, hence why you’re still not doing missions but at least able to train on base. That’s it.
Keegan is an older man (38) and way more experienced in the field but he is rather quiet and not very social around people, but he is known to complete combat operations under extreme conditions. When he heard there was someone as young as you who joined, his interest was immediately piqued and his mind ran with thoughts on his ability in being able to train you into something stronger.
Well..he thought you needed training.
Keegan heard about your whereabouts and went to go look for you and as if on cue he found you training with the other soldiers on the training grounds. Three soldiers around you were limp and wincing on the ground with one more soldier still standing. Well..not for long.
In a swift motion, you launch forward towards the last soldier standing, aiming to grab his arm and twist it behind his back. But just as you reached for him, you feint to the side, tricking him into moving in the wrong direction. With quick reflexes, you pivot and grab the opposite arm, pulling him closer and wrapping your leg around his. Using the leverage, you flip him onto the ground and threw him on the ground.
Keegan was impressed. A low whistle and slow mock sounding claps came from him as he walked over to you. You got up and the four soldiers left the vicinity in some strained pained grunts.
“Damn kid, who taught you how to do that?” Keegan asked in his deep, raspy voice.
