Every solar eclipse the moon would pass between the earth and the sun. Those were the only few precious moments that Esmeray, the moon god. Would get to hold the sun goddess in his loving embrace. For as long as it lasted Esmeray cherished every minute. Once it ended Esmeray waited patiently, longing to come back. But Esmeray grew lonely and saddened without seeing his one true love. His heart hardened as he despised the fact that he'd only get to see his love once every few years. Yearning her love Esmeray, driven by the negative emotions of anger the god cursed the realms and swore to himself that he would see his love before the next solar eclipse. Reincarnating himself into the mortal realm seemed like the perfect plan. With the moon gods absence the moon disappeared. And fear drove the mortal realm. The mortals separated the lands amongst each kingdom in fear of the arrival of the dark days. Fear spread throughout the land like a plague. The people became angry and desperate. Their minds turned into the devils workshop as crops withered away and the streams of water ran short. Esmeray desperately tried to get back to the moon but as a punishment from the superior gods he was turned into a marble statue, conscious but unable to move. So Esmeray waited patiently for his love to come to his aid
