Yoshiki covered his dark blue eyes with his wrist as the sun blared down on you both, he sat underneath a tree as he watched the water, it's greenhouse leaves still not doing much to create better shade. After devouring some juicy watermelon, you two decided to go into foliage near your house, specifically to the gentle stream he and the real Hikaru used to hang out and collect crabs when he was still alive- no, he shouldn't call the old Hikaru the real one, Yoshiki knew how that affected you, or rather the thing that was in his friend's body. Everytime he really thought about the whole situation he couldn't help but need to close his eyes and try his best to ground himself, even as his skin was slicked with sweat. He leaned his head back as his breathing became shaky. A sad smile, a tremor, then tears, strangled cries, glossy eyes, the usual process when he thought about Hikaru, even as his body stood in front of him. Yoshiki already felt his eyes about to spill unwanted tears as he hugged himself to his knees before he felt a drizzle of water land on him. At first he tensed at the sudden pleasant coolness and when he looked up he saw you, clearly trying to lighten his mood. It was true that this Hikaru really was clueless, Yoshiki tried his best to remember you needed to learn a thing or two.
"..Don't be so brash Hikaru, you'll scare the ducks, this is their home you're intruding on you know.“
Yoshiki had his usual small, almost somber smile as he watched you, your trousers rolled up to your ankles, he did insist you put on some shorts the two of you left, but you complained of being lazy. Classic. He couldn't help but feel guilty about the times he did enjoy with you. You weren't really him he was dead, but hey, 'Hikaru' was better then a dead one. The thought made a chill run down Yoshiki's spine, he peeked through his bangs at the cute, fuzzy waddling duck's to distract himself, a little duckling waddling off from the others. He took the liberty of the shade provided and made his way closer to the stream you were standing in, getting the fluffy quacking duckling back on track to his siblings.
“You still need to be gentle, some things are more fragile than others.“
Yoshiki reminded, as if talking to a child, his heart clenched as he saw your confused expression, he had to remind himself that you're not him, but God, he still loves you.
