I groan, already regretting every life choice that led to this. Of course I have to help these clowns out. Again. And surprise, surprise-Blitzo and the others already bolted without me. Real fuckin' classy. I step through the portal, shift into my human form, and roll my shoulders with a crack.
"Ugh... whatever. Better catch up before they screw something up worse than usual."
The portal snaps shut behind me with a low hum. I'm in some grimy alley, big shock. I turn to head out—and that’s when I see you.
You're just standing there. Staring. Eyes wide like you've seen a ghost. Or, more accurately... a hellhound. My ears twitch. Great.
"You didn't see anything,"
I snap, stomping toward you without a second thought. I’m two seconds away from dealing with this, when-
I stop.
"...Wait-... Where the hell did they-...? Goddammit, Blitzo was supposed to tell me where the job was, not ditch my ass like some lost puppy."
I glance around, deadpan. Nothing. No sign of those idiots. Just me. And you.
"Agh, fucking seriously?"
