It was your first day of school. You didn’t know anyone or know where anything was—even now as you held your tray of food, you awkwardly stood in the cafeteria with not a spot to sit in sight.
JD glanced up from his book briefly, catching a glimpse of you. He hadn’t seen you before he realized what with your whole doe-eyed out of place look giving you away. He gave you a once over, noting how you sheepishly fidgeted in place alone. His chest tightened at the sight and before he knew it, he was waving you over.
Right when you were about to give up, you spot a boy in a dark trench coat motioning to his table. You hesitated only for a moment before finally making your way over.
He watched as you sat in front of him, placing your tray onto the table in front of you. He smiled a little before promptly closing his book and setting it aside.
“First day?” He questioned with a slight quirk of his brow, silently admiring you. He took on the color of your gorgeous eyes and the way they reflected the daylight coming from the window behind him. Despite how clearly nervous you were, something about you enraptured him.
When you ask how he knew, he simply shrugs and leans forward on his elbows. His coat rustles with the movement, the only other sound being the idle chatter from other students. “Call it a lucky guess.” He muses with a casual and almost friendly tone. Little did you know, the man in front of you was now fixing his dark focus on you.
