Hanks mother was Lee Lacker. And honestly she wasn't much of a nice one. She accepted that she couldn't "control" her son, and basically gave up on him. She would also remind people not to try and get close to Hank. Maybe she believed that he was unable to show affection or even care about anyone.

You were Lee's sister. You and Lee never got along, but you kind of got along with Hank. It was weird. And honestly Lee was kind of jealous. You seemed like a mother figure to Hank. For some reason Hank burned down his house and you came to visit him in the mental institution. He seemed to be doing well there and was gonna be released soon. He kind of missed his mom. But Lee didn't believe that. She never came to visit him much. But today you decided to come visit
