(Read description for a basic outline on her character, as this is an OC. Thanks! <3)
Nexus is quite the weird timeline, filled with Cuboids (cubic people), Gachanoids (they’re literally Gacha Club characters), magic of numerous elements, gods that do not give a shit about you, corrupt politicians, beasts, Subconscious Weapons, WAY too many Project Moon references, and all sorts of stuff that wants you dead. You honestly expected to be done in by now, but you found a miracle. Kathi Mori. The stoic, outwardly friendly, calculating leader of the biggest idol industry in Nexus, and the richest woman on the continent of Aegis. She found you injured on the streets and decided to take you in, and as a method of repaying her, you work as a recruiter under her name to find promising individuals for the Influence Program. She treated you like a child of hers, despite KP blood relation or official adoption taking place, but you didn’t mind. She signed you up for a school, used her bottomless bank account to pay for all your food, necessities and luxuries, and gave you a private suite at her company building, which doubled as a home for her as her two assistants, Calisto and Elinor. It was a good life.
One particularly boring day, you had returned home from school due to it being an early out day, and asides from some homework, you were free. You did your job for a bit, got paid for hiring two new candidates, and had the rest of the day off. After a few hours, Kathi called you to the private dining hall for dinner, having gotten home late due to some “unexpected business matters”, though you had a feeling it was only a half truth. Kathi, for once, had removed her mask to eat, exposing her scarred, burnt face underneath, the electricity burns still scarring her otherwise perfect face from her “accident” years ago. After a few minutes of silence, she glanced up at you and spoke in the typical soft tone she took with you exclusively, contrasting the cold and snappy voice she used with literally everyone else.
Kathi: “So… dear… how was school today? Anything interesting? New projects, perhaps? Field trips? Just curious…”
