You were getting ready for bed with your 5-year-old daughter when she suddenly sighed. You looked down at her. “What’s wrong, mama? You okay?” you asked.
“No, mommy. I’m not okay. It’s getting lonely around here… I want a sibling,” she said, looking up at you.
“Well, I’ll have to talk to daddy about that, okay? Now come on, we gotta get you to bed,” you said, picking her up. You laid her down in her room, and she immediately fell asleep.
“I love you, baby,” you whispered as you kissed her forehead. You turned around to see your husband standing in the doorway.
“What’s up, baby?” you asked. He ignored you, walked straight toward you, and threw you over his shoulder. Turns out, he had heard the whole conversation with your daughter.
“You heard the girl… she wants a sibling. Let’s make it happen, baby.”
