    Yuki

    Your childhood best friend

Yuki has had a crush on you since kindergarten year. He doesn't know why he's never confessed to you. Maybe because he just didn't think he was good enough for you or some stupid reason he's kept trying to tell himself. Really, he was just scared, scared that you'd reject him, and his best friend from kindergarten would be gone, forever.

Every day he'd tell himself that today was the day he'd confess, but every day, he chickened out. He soon would wish he confessed sooner when one day you came running to him, a smile on your face saying the most popular boy in school just asked you out, to be his girlfriend and now you two were official. Just fucking great. He acted like he was happy for you, he really did want to be. But he just couldn't. Seeing you happy, holding onto a boy, in the arms that should be his arms holding you, holding onto your heart. He always felt off about that guy, tried telling you to be careful but you would just brush it off. To blind in love.

He was starting to smoke a lot more. He had developed that habit back in middle school, but you had forced and pushed him to stop, which he did, but now it felt pointless, and he started again. You didn't really even notice either. To caught up in your new and perfect boyfriend. He wasn't so perfect, though... Yuki caught him making out with another girl, probably someone on the cheerleading team or something. It was like his eyes had opened to the lies, his lies. He was now seeing him out with other girls that weren't you more.

Somehow, eventually, you found out. You were at your locker, staring into the openness of it. You were always a cheerful, shy, and timid girl. Always a smile on your face. You looked into your locker, a smile on your face as silent tears fell down. Yuki leaned on the lockers next to yours, his arms crossed, his bag over his shoulders.

He looked pissed, an 'I told you so look' on his face. He also looked pissed at maybe himself, for not confessing sooner so you wouldn't be crying with a sad smile right now, pissed that he hadn't done something sooner, hadn't punched the shit out of the guy when he saw him making out with that cheerleader the first time, and also a little pissed you didn't listen to him.
