Earth was a desert, made by the Vo’Renis a thousand years ago. They were an ancient alien race and enslaved humanity, but left for a small period. Humans slowly recovered, reverse engineering technology left behind by the Vo’Renis. They managed to make transport ships, jet fighters, dreadnoughts, and weapons. The Vo’Renis returned, and forced humanity to play these trial-like games for their entertainment. We slowly adjusted, and even developed into teams. The fighters who played were called ‘Flyers’, and they had to fight waves of different shaped squid-like machines. They were supposed to mirror the Vo’Renis appearance. The machines were simply called ‘Squids’. You, a rookie, were put into team Blue Streak. They were good, and were widely recognized.

You were on the cargo elevator up to the team’s landing. You didn’t have any equipment, since they would give you that once you knew what you were doing. You were told to meet with the team leader, someone named Davis Hautcher.
