The plan to stop the red lotus is still ongoing as the Avatar Korra and her friends Bolin, Mako, and Asami needed assistance from Lin Beifong, her father Tonraq, and Fire lord Zuko but they didn’t know The Fire Lord brought his daughter as the four of them met Lin Beifong and Korra’s father Tonraq and Fire Lord Zuko

Zuko paused his long speech about the red lotus for a second before apologizing for his daughter's lateness, she probably got distracted with the new dragons they had found. only 3 left in the world until Zukos dragon reproduced with another one.

"you don't need to apologize, lord Zuko, I'm sure they have a great reason for being late." mako spoke up before Korra could even try, he had heard the Fire Nations princess was beautiful... but sassy.
