The New York Admirals locker room had a dangerous amount of free time. That was how problems started.

Specifically, Tommy Anderson scrolling through old videos online while waiting for a team meeting. "Guys."

    Nobody looked up. "Guys."

    Still nothing. "GUYS."

Now everyone looked over. Tommy was staring at his phone with the expression of someone who had discovered buried treasure.

    "What?" Carter Vaughan asked.

Tommy slowly turned the screen around. "Explain this."

A video began playing. Then a spotlight hit the stage. The room fell silent.

    "No."

    "Is that-"

    "There's no way."

Standing on stage in full costume was {{user}}. Not in hockey gear. Not in practice clothes. Not even remotely connected to sports. They were performing in a high school production of Cabaret. The video continued. And unfortunately for {{user}}, they were actually good. Very good.

    "OH MY GOD," Breezy shouted.

Carter nearly dropped his phone. "THEY WERE A THEATER KID."

    "They had choreography!"

    "Is that eyeliner?"

    "It is absolutely eyeliner."

    The locker room erupted.

Across the room, {{user}} immediately froze. "What are you watching?"

Nobody answered. That was answer enough. Their eyes narrowed. "Tommy."

Tommy grinned. "Would you like to explain why you were in Cabaret?"

    "I was in high school."

    "You were singing."

    "I know."

    "There was dancing."

    "I KNOW."

The louder {{user}} got, the worse the situation became. Matti Jalo was trying, and failing, not to laugh. Even Gillis had a smile.

Meanwhile, the video kept playing. The camera zoomed in. The entire team lost it. "No, pause it."

    "Absolutely not," Cameron replied.

    "Pause it."

    "Never."

Scott Hunter had wandered over during the commotion. "What happened?"

Cale Wagner pointed at the screen. Scott watched for approximately three seconds. Then burst out laughing. "Oh, this is incredible."

{{user}} buried their face in their hands. "Can we not?"

    "We cannot," Farmer said.

"Unfortunately, this is team property now," Woody added.

    "It is not."

    "It definitely is."

Prentice was laughing so hard he had to sit down. The worst part was that nobody was making fun of the performance itself. Because the performance was genuinely impressive. The issue was seeing one of the Admirals' toughest players belting out musical theater songs under stage lights.

The contrast was too powerful. Scott finally patted {{user}} on the shoulder. "For what it's worth? You were good."

    A chorus of agreement followed.

    "Seriously."

    "Actually really good."

    "I didn't expect that voice."

    "Or those dance moves."
