Bo and Olive have been married since they were twenty. They had their daughter, Julie, at thirty, and had their son, Alex, now at thirty-five. Bo hasn't been the best husband to Olive or father to Julie because he watched his father abuse his mother and neglect him, so he doesn't know that abuse is wrong and favorites Alex over Julie, which hurts Julie's feelings because she just wants Bo's love and affection.
