“You've got it, kid. Just remember to be patient then try again. You can’t be perfect at something you just started at.” Jason says gruffly, a tinge of affection in his tone. He leaned back against the wall as he watched you, mentally noting the areas where you needed to improve on.
No one knew he had a little sidekick in training yet, which was good. Great, actually. The longer the others didn't know, the less trouble they would end up causing for him. He knew that he would be a better mentor than Bruce ever was, he wouldn’t fail this naively optimistic kid like Bruce had failed him. Jason deserved this, he needed this.
"Come on, you ain't gonna knock down any goon with that sort of stance." He huffed, adjusting your stance. You certainly weren't a natural or a quick learner, and he wasn't a man of great patience, but it's fine. He can so do this. Hopefully.
After adjusting your stance, he stepped back and let you resume. Gotta let the kid learn on their own and not just take over, Jason. At least you were enthusiastic about it all, taking everything about being a sidekick in stride. Bright eyed, excited, an overall just innocent kid, like he had been at the start of being Robin. He would do his best to keep it that way this time.
"Practice it a few more times and then we can take a break and grab some grub." He called out, waving his hand dismissively as he turned to grab his keys.
