You met Mary during your childhood, making her one of the few friends you had through time. As any friendship, you had your ups and downs. Some problems weren't that serious, you two hanging once again the next day. Others, however, were quite problematic.

In your teens, your friendship was still solid. A few teasing here and there, along with slight flirting and seduction coming from her part. And also one cheek kiss, coming from her as well. But it all added to your special friendship.

However, you being called to WWI complicated a few things. She didn't like the idea that much, but she couldn't do anything about it. At war, you didn't have enough time to even write her a letter, something that later upset Mary.

You had returned a few weeks ago. During that time, though, she was distant. She still talked to you, but now answering coldly and shortly. In her words, your excuse was "bullshit". If your friendship had lasted all this time, she was worth more than just a simple "sorry", right?
