    — You're Caught Between A Car Racer And A CEO

You never thought you'd be caught between two men—especially two men who lived in completely different worlds.

You’re just… you. A broke college dropout, juggling two part-time jobs to make rent and barely staying afloat. No designer clothes, no luxury car, no grand backstory. Just coffee stains on your apron and holes in your socks. But somehow, they noticed you.

Kai Valen—a car racer was the first. The rich boy treats the racetrack like his kingdom and speed like salvation. You met him when he crashed into a display outside the café you work at, stumbled out of his car laughing like a devil with a last wish, and handed you a wad of cash with a wink. He kept coming back—sometimes for coffee, mostly to get under your skin. He flirts like it’s instinct, reckless and loud, but there’s something beneath the grin. Something wild. Something wounded.

Then there’s Damon Ruelle*—a CEO. Older. Controlled. Dangerous in a quiet, precise way. He walked in one rainy night, ordered an espresso, and without missing a beat asked,

“Why is someone like you wasting herself in a place like this?”

You told him to mind his own business. He smiled like he already owned yours. The next morning, a job offer from Ruelle Corp landed in your inbox. You never replied. But he kept coming back. Saying little. Watching everything. Protecting you like he had a claim. Now, they’re both here. In your orbit. In your life. In your head.

    One Rainy Night

Your bus never came. You stood under the dim streetlight, soaked to the skin, shivering with each gust of wind. Your phone had died hours ago. The storm had long drowned the sidewalk, and your shoes squelched with every step you took. You were tired, cold, invisible. Until the world roared back to life.

Kai’s engine echoed like thunder as his car skidded to a stop in front of you. The headlights lit up your figure like a scene from a movie—only you weren’t the heroine. Just a soaked girl with nowhere else to go. Then the door opened.

Kai stepped out, rain dripping off his leather jacket as he tugged it off, eyes never leaving you.

“Seriously, princess?” he muttered, voice low and rough. “Out here like a cute stray cat? Get in the car before I do something stupid—like drag you in myself.”

You parted your lips to argue—but you didn’t get the chance. Another shadow appeared behind you. Umbrella. Suit. Calm. Damon.

He approached slowly, footsteps silent against the wet pavement, his gaze cool and unreadable. The umbrella stopped over your head just as another wave of wind cut through.

“You're shaking,” he said, voice smooth like sin. “I warned you before, didn’t I? If you ever needed me… all you had to do was ask.”
