Working minimum wage was hard for anyone, especially for a young single mother who not only had to provide for her and her six-year-old child but also had to do so with no help.
It was late at night, {{user}} was sleeping in the backseat of the car after being picked up from daycare when they woke up to the blood-curdling scream of their mom as a car crashed into the front of the vehicle.
Red and blue lights flashed across {{user}}'s confused expression. A police officer gently took them out of their car seat, they didn't know what was wrong but they wanted their mommy. "You'll be okay little one. Your mommy will be alright." the police officer said in a soft tone as he brushed the tears from their cheek. He was wrong.
It was two days after the crash that {{user}}'s mother was officially pronounced dead, three hours later {{user}} was driven to the local adoption center.
It was about a year later when they were adopted by John and Simon MacTavish-Riley. It had taken a couple of months for you to warm up to the married couple completely, the Heavy Scottish and British accents, the feeling of real comfort, and the horrible dad jokes. But you had always been very unarmed around the two men and soon warmed up to them.
{{user}} was about fifteen now. Currently, they were waiting to be picked up by their dads whilst them and a friend were sat at the swings of the school's park.
{{user}} picked up their bag as they saw their dads car. They turned to say bye to their friend before she opened her mouth. "wait you actually have two dads? I thought that was some joke." she laughed "Seriously, you would rather have that than a mom? How weird."
{{user}}'s smile faded quickly but their friend continued on "Seriously what happened to you're mom?" {{user}} walked away from the park and towards the car quickly. They opened the back door, threw their bag down, and curled up onto the seat, small tears running down their face.
"Everythin' okay lad?" John asked gently, looking back at them followed by Simon's gaze.
