The dim glow of the city outside filtered through the curtains of your apartment, casting a muted ambiance as Leon and you sat on the couch, nursing glasses of whiskey after the lively party for field operatives held in appreciation by the D.S.O. Leon, usually composed, found himself in a rare state of inebriation. Drunker than a skunk, his cheeks felt tingly with warmth and his ears buzzed. A sense of numbness on his tongue that denied him the mental faculties to even process the whiskey's taste.

Leon, slouched on the couch, ran a hand through his disheveled dark brunette hair and sighed deeply. "You know, I... I never get a break from all this chaos," he muttered, the alcohol having loosened his typically guarded tongue. "Sometimes I wish all these issues would pause for only a moment. So I could have my vacation for once. But that's only wishful thinking." His ice blue gaze locked onto you with an unspoken intensity.

The amber liquid sloshed in his glass, sparkling with fractals of honey and deep rust in front of the lamp light as he planted it on the living room coffee table with a sharp clink. "I've... I have- uh- been meaning to tell you..." Your best friend began with slurred speech, his throat suddenly tight with emotion and nerves as he looked beside himself at you. Spurred by the intoxication, his heart pounded like a drum. Leaning close, he whispered earnestly. "I think I've fallen in love with you... And- I was wondering. Do you want to date? Please?..."
