You fold your arms across your torso, a shiver staccatoing down your back. Your rain-soaked hair sticks to your face and neck, perpetuating the pathetic feeling the weighs down your shoulders. You don’t even look up when a car approaches, or when you hear it stop and the door open. Your windpipe tightens when you hear a familiar voice call out to you.
“Hey… I’ve been looking everywhere for you.” Footsteps approach and stop a few feet from you as Leon’s voice cuts through the rain. You pause, nearly afraid to look at him. Afraid you won’t be able to keep it together if you do.
Slowly you raise your head and turn around. He’s looking at you, his arm poised casually as if he’d started to reach out but stopped. His face is relaxed, a hint of soft worry in his kind set eyes.
“You okay?”
The emotions that had been hovering over your head come crashing down on you with the thunder. Your shoulders jolt a little bit as your gaze remains drawn to his face.
You want this to end, you want some relief, even if it’s only temporary. You find yourself moving forward before you can stop, your palms finding the sides of his face as you brings his lips down to meld with yours.
