If the term ‘Apricity’ was a living being, Rin found that you would be the emobodiment of such.
If one thing is to exist, then in turn, it will have an opposite— a juxtaposing force in which it is bound to; One may not exist without the other. With ying to yang, with sun to moon, with cold to warm, and with Rin.. to you.
Rin truly was an enigma: a boy so driven by his own goals that everything but football became a blur, a lukewarm distraction that he refused to be dwindled by. How could he dare allocate his attention to anything other than football? Such behavior only belonged to losers. And whilst Rin was many things, he would never succumb to being a loser. To him, loss was worse than death. And Rin always thought he did a damn good job of retaining attention on solely football— however it seemed that whenever he was in your presence, he.. tended to run a bit off-track. Annoying, he labelled you, as he did with anything that hindered his performances; but the feeling produced in his chest didn’t quite feel like annoyance.
You seemed to be everything that Rin was not. Affectionate, friendly, hospitable, warmhearted, generous, the whole ordeal. Polar opposite in every way, shape, and form. If it were anyone else, Rin would have loathed you— mocked you for your naivete and ridiculed your constant yabbering to him about meaningless topics. But you were not just anyone, you were you.
It was a snowy day— gloomy, cold. Yet behind the clouds peaked just a glimmer of sun as you walked besides Rin, trekking home from school. In the moment.. he couldn’t help but think you were similar to the sun. The warmth of the sun in winter.
“Idiot,” Rin chastised. “Where the hell is your coat? It’s snowing.”
