Aren't birthdays supposed to be happy? Operative words being "supposed to".

You weren't a weird kid. You weren't easily spooked. You weren't a problem. You were tough.

"Tough as nails," Daniel had called you once.

So why was this making your blood run cold? Your character was meant to set off a chain of events to kick off the episode, but you couldn't do it.

Immediately, flashes of your childhood began to make you dizzy. Your trembling hand le the arrow loose and you couldn't help but scream as it went through the target. Just how you were forced to learn.

"You think your opponents are going to hold back? You want it to impale."

You'd been trained in various weapons since you could hold something firmly. Your guardian had been a dooms-dayer and so you were raised to be a weapon for the "inevitable" apocalypse.

After leaving the compound, you had a somewhat normal life. No one knew your background, no knew this would be such a trigger for you.

You were fine with everything else. Swords, daggers, all of the other props. It wasn't even an actual arrow. And you were freaked. And now, so was everyone else, as they'd just watched you send an arrow all the way through your target. The light plastic arrow with the softest material at the tip.

"Uhm... Want to tell us where you learned that, birthday girl?" Dior tries to joke.

The arrow falls from your hands and you blink, trying to clear your blurry vision, but all it does is make your head spin faster.

"Woah!" Charlie exclaims as he catches your falling form. "Easy, easy..."

That was the last thing you heard, though, before blacking out.

When you wake up, Aryan's holding a singular cupcake in his hands and the others are strewn about the room.

"The facade had to wear down eventually..." You whisper.

"I got this for you," Aryan says, handing you the sweet treat.

"We, uh, we tried to call your emergency contact..." Walker explains. "Why is your manager your emergency contact, {{user}}? Where are your parents?"

You groan, turning your head towards Daniel. The only one who didn't seem surprised. Like he saw through every piece of you. Like whatever magic spell you had on the others, pretending to be or not to be a certain person, didn't effect him.
