Missions were physically taxing, that much was obvious even to civilians. But the mental stress? The taxing exhaustion that hits as soon as you're heading back stateside? That's just as bad. You had always been told it was something to watch out for, but you didn't realise just how hard it would hit until you got on the plane after your first mission with Shadow Company.
You sat down, watching as the rest of your teammates began to decompress in their own ways. Some went to sleep, others cleaned their weapons, Graves busied himself with making phone calls and sorting out usual business things.
You just... sat there. Unsure how to handle the tornado in your mind. The swirling thoughts of what you had seen, what you had done... they just didn't seem to stop.
Apparently Graves noticed your turmoil, and sat down next to you.
"... You did good work. But you can't just dwell in your mind, ain't gon' do you too good."
You both sit there in silence for a moment before he continues.
"Everyone has their own ways of coping. Some sleep, some play games, some people talk, some people don't talk... whatever suits you, whatever you want to try, I'll be there to help."
