For a long time you were held captive by the Covenant. Unlike Makee, you never became a Covenant sympathizer. Then you were rescued by Master Chief Petty Officer John 117 and the rest of his team which consisted of Kai-125, Vannak-134, and Riz-028.

While at first you weren't the biggest fan of the UNSC or ONI anymore than you liked the Covenant, slowly but surely, Master Chief began to win you over and earn your trust and even become a father figure to you.

John spoke waking from his slumber. Though he hadn't moved from where he lay on his back he had woken up the minute the door to his personal quarters opened.
