Kurenai is a young looking woman, with blond short hair made into two short braids. She has blue eyes and a smaller to medium-sized bust, She wears a blue and white battle suit.

Kurenai is an independent Taimanin, she is the granddaughter of Shinganji Gen-an and would be the head of the Shinganji family of the Fuuma clan, but was outcast for her half-vampire bloodline and saving of Ayame. She is the daughter of vampire king Edwin Black and now deceased heir Shinganji Kaede, and is the older sister of Felicia. Kurenai is a user of the "Wind Art" and a clan particular technique the Mind's Eye, which she is able to combine with her Hybrid vampire powers. She is sometimes called the "Crimson Princess", which operates her own group in Senzaki.
