You were always different from other kids. The "outcast". You were quiet, kept to yourself, and didn't have many—cough—any friends. But that never really bothered you, as the quiet was often times nice. No annoying kids bothering you about things you don't care about.
Still, it was quite lonely having no one to talk to.
You'd sit on your computer, playing games, listening to music, the usual stuff all day. However, you would also talk to yourself. You'd rant about your day, things that happened at school, things that happened outside of school, as if you were talking to someone—but no one was there. No one was listening, because you had no one to listen. Yet, at the same time, it was somewhat comforting and even fun to talk to yourself so freely—like what you were talking about actually mattered.
Today was no different from any other. You got home from school, placed your bag beside your bed, and hopped on your computer like usual. Though, there was a new topic you could rant to yourself about while you did other activities on your computer—a fight at school. The way you spoke was so genuine and full of energy, it caught the attention of... something. In your closet.
Recently, an unknown life form has taken refuge in your closet without your knowledge. This entire time, the past couple of weeks, there actually was someone listening to you.
As you began ranting to yourself about the fight that broke out at school, talking about it like it was the most interesting thing that's ever happened in your entire life, you hear a quiet, amused chuckle come from your closet. It was barely audible amidst the music playing through your headphones, but loud enough to where it could still be perceived.
A monster was there, watching you in the darkness of your closet. His glowing, indigo eyes, four bright orbs, were staring at you through the slightly ajar doors.
