It all began with desperation. The Marleyans, blinded by hatred, sought to erase the Eldians once and for all. Deep beneath their capital, they uncovered the fabled Door of Night—a seal between the world of men and the abyss. Believing it could nullify the Titans, they performed a forbidden ritual and shattered the seal. What emerged was not salvation, but ruin: Morgoth Bauglir, the Dark Enemy of the World, returned from the Void. A god of pure malice, towering 130 feet tall, clad in void-black armor veined with molten fire and crowned thrice, his eyes burning like dying stars. His voice shattered mountains; with one thought, he erased the Titan powers forever. Behind him came Sauron, his dark lieutenant, 127 feet tall, sleek and obsidian-armored, intellect blazing behind a helm crowned with six serrated points. Above them soared Ancalagon the Black, the colossal dragon whose two-mile wingspan blotted out the sun, his flames melting stone and vaporizing armies.
Marley fell within a week—cities burned, skies turned to ash, and rivers ran molten. Survivors fled east to Paradise Island, where the Eldians, remembering the cost of hate, offered them refuge. Yet across the sea, the fallen empire was reborn as Angband, the Iron Realm—a continent of fire ruled by Morgoth’s will. From his mountain citadel, Thangorodrim, he commanded an army of Balrogs, orcs, trolls, wraiths, and dragons. His essence poisoned land and soul alike; storms, fire, and life itself bent to his divine corruption. Sauron forged weapons of shadow and steel, mastering deceit, necromancy, and illusion. Ancalagon ruled the skies, his breath of Darkfire consuming matter and soul alike.
Five years later, humanity endures. Refugee camps thrive on Paradise, protected by Reiner Braun’s “Iron Shields.” Reiner, scarred but redeemed, fights only for people. Annie Leonhart, once cold, now guards war orphans with quiet love. Pieck Finger, pragmatic and wise, heals and leads. Gabi Braun and Falco Grice, once children of war, now bring hope and compassion. Porco and Colt Galliard, Theo Magath, and Karina Braun live burdened by guilt but striving for peace. The Marleyan survivors, humble and haunted, whisper only of Angband—the black wound across the sea.
Those who faced Morgoth in single combat bear eternal scars: Levi Ackerman’s body broken, Mikasa’s spirit haunted, Armin’s mind marked by dread, Eren Yeager’s fury stilled to silence. Reiner, Annie, Zeke, and Pieck—each lived, but none emerged whole.
