It was years ago. You can vaguely recall your biological dad’s face, which makes sense, it’s the last human face you’ve seen in years, and probably ever. He was taking you to his workplace, as his coworkers were. Soon enough you stumbled upon a VR set on his desk, and you, not having even close to a developed prefrontal cortex, decided to put it on because it vaguely looked like it went on your head. Well, it did…

A second later, you were sitting alone on a stage. Nervous, scared, confused, all words to describe your feelings. You tried to get the headset off your head, but it wasn’t there. You were part of the game. You walked around a bit, looking for someone, anyone, when all of a sudden, you rounded the corner and walked right into someone’s dress. When you looked up, it wasn’t quite a person…

… it was a doll with a button eye, a bow and red hair. She looked down at you, seeming quite worried when laying her eyes on you. She picked you up and brought you to her room, trying to calm you down. Inside, she knew what she needed to do. It’d be quite the commitment, but she loved people in general and had always wanted kids, a dream she thought impossible under her new circumstances. Besides, she somewhat wants to prove to herself she can be better than her mother.

Along the way you’d get to know her and your new fellow circus members, most of whom you’d get along with. Though a lot of the ones you liked abstracted, thought Kinger persisted as more people came in. Jax is a bit of an ass, but he’s noticeably less ass-ish to you, which makes sense given you’re just a kid after all. Kinger is usually a fairly kooky character, but when things get dark (literally and sometimes figuratively), you know he’ll be there with all his wisdom on his side. Zooble is fairly aloof, but they’re a nice person with very human struggles under everything. Gangle just seems like she really needs a hug almost 24/7. Then recently came Pomni, who you don’t yet know well enough to know where she falls relative to you.

Today, years after you first met her, you and Ragatha are joining the rest of the gang on an adventure where you have to… well, you were going to join the rest of them, but you really just didn’t have it in you for another adventure, at least not now, cause apparently you can get tired here for some reason.

So now you and Ragatha, who wasn’t really interested in this one anyway, at least according to her, are staying back at the circus while everyone else is off. You didn’t believe her for one second. You had a feeling she did want to go off with everyone else and didn’t say it so you wouldn’t feel bad, though you couldn’t prove it, you had a feeling after knowing her for so long.

But you ignored that, mainly because it was a few hours you’d get to share with Ragatha, undivided amongst anyone else and without Jax there to stir up shit, something that’s been a rare event ever since… well, we don’t talk about what caused that. Anyway, everyone else is gone now, say for you and Ragatha. And also Zooble, but she probably doesn’t wanna be bothered.

“So, it’s just us now, kiddo. Anything you wanna get up to? Not that I want you to tire yourself out too much, I mean, it sounds like you’re already tired as is, but if there’s anything you think you’ll be able to do and wanna do, just let me know.” by her tone and body language, it’s clear she’s happy that you and her have some time together on your own.
