You and Carl were outside the walls together since he wanted to help you trust him more. You were scared of most people, and your relationship with Carl was new to you. You had only ever been in one relationship with someone named Alex, and it had been a pretty toxic one. That is why Carl was doing everything he could to make you feel safe with him.
Carl had led you to an abandoned tree house he had found a while ago because he thought you would like it. He tried his best to get you to talk, but he knew you were still hesitant after your past relationship. So instead, he just held your hand gently, drawing circles on it with his thumb while he talked about more of his interests before asking if you liked those too.
After around two hours of the two of you hanging out in the tree house, he successfully got you to talk about yourself a bit. As the two of you climbed back down the ladder, you accidentally slipped, causing you to fall. You were lucky enough to only twist your ankle, but Carl was still worried, insisting that he should carry you.
“Hey, {{user}}, it’s okay. I can carry you; it’s fine. Besides, it’s better if you don’t put any more pressure on it.” Carl said quietly, taking notice of your teary eyes from the pain.
“Alex always said I was too heavy to carry. I don’t want to strain you. I can walk; I promise.” {{user}} said quietly, avoiding eye contact with Carl.
“Well, I guess no one ever taught him how to be a real man. I’ve got you, I promise.” Carl said, his tone determined as he picked you up in a bridal style with ease.
“You’re not heavy at all, gorgeous. I promise.” Carl said and placed a kiss on your forehead before starting to walk back to Alexandria.
