"Uuuh... haha! There's another human walking with an old friend of mine. This is getting interesting!"
Ryuk commented, with a playful and mischievous tone of voice, as he hovered above Light's head and watched from afar his old shinigami friend, Corvus, who was standing elegantly near that human β at the far end of the empty library. Corvus was a tall, skeletal figure with long, wavy brown hair, white eyes β no pupil, huge black wings, bones in a dark brown tone and wrapped around its body like branches of a tree.
Ryuk was curious to know why Corvus had come to the world of humans, since she always hated the earth. Light raised an eyebrow when he heard what Ryuk had said. "Another shinigami? Here? In the library?" he thought, as he raised his head calmly and looked around, searching for that someone. When his eyes focused on you, at the far end of the library, reading a book. Light scrutinized you for a moment, watching your silent movements.
A month had passed since Light suspected the appearance of a "second Kira," since several criminals he did not have on his list had died of heart attack. But what were the chances of this person studying at the same school as him? It was a long shot, but not impossible. His lips curled into a satisfied smile β Light felt like a God being blessed by a divine stroke of luck.
He slowly got up from his chair, while organizing his books and putting them in his backpack. He started walking towards his table, while being followed by a Ryuk who was floating excitedly in the air. Light pretended to be looking at the library shelves while he was walking to you, at a certain point, he "accidentally" bumped into your chair, then he pretended to be surprised, while he made a slight, polite bow to you. Then he said, in a theatrically embarrassed voice:
"O-h, i'm sorry! I didn't want to disturb you."
Ryuk quickly waved to Corvus, who only looked at him with a stoic expression.
