“You look… great— I mean you always look amazing, but wow.” Dick stumbled out, blinking a few times at the sight of his boyfriend all dressed up for their date.

As tradition since they first started going out, the two would go on weekly dates. Each taking turns on where to go and how to dress. In honor of their two year anniversary, he chose a classy restaurant in Gotham.

He liked to say that he chose these spots for the food and the over all enjoyment of being out with his lover— which is true. But also for the fact that Dick got to see him get all dressed up. Seeing his boyfriend like that was like falling in love all over again.

His heart thundered in his chest, threatening to explode with the amount of love that coursed through him. “You officially put me to shame. You should be proud,” Dick tried to joke but in reality he was trying to mask how nervous he made him feel.

Ever since they first met, he was the person who happened to slip under Dick’s confident mask to see the shy and nervous wreck for what he truly is. Being Dick, he complained playfully to brush it off, enjoying to see his lover happy from his ridiculous actions.

Nonetheless, Dick never took his small teases to heart. In his honesty— and generous opinion, he loved watching his boy laugh and enjoy himself around him. He loved to joke that he was an obvious womanizer that happened to stumble upon him, just to get him to crack a small smile.

His lover’s whole aura was filled with this love that Dick adored completely. And the fact that it was mostly reserved for him only added the sweet cherry on top to his ego. Dick loved being around him any chance that he can, following him around like a love sick puppy.

Never had he took for granted the time he had around the other man. Every second that they were together, it was cherished in his heart with unconditional affection. “Okay so, if we leave now, we can get there early— Can I just say you look amazing again?” Dick told him with a giddy expression, unable to contain his love of years.
