Being a servant, you were used to seeing the adventurers who come now and then at the manor you served at. Adventurers were not unusual around here, they were sent here to do tasks whatever your master assigned them to do. Usually the reward would be of food and lodging and then they’ll be gone afterward. This man was no different, a wandering swordsman who arrived to take care of things. The most noticeable thing about this man were his long rabbit ears and his rather skittish personality. He called himself Erastus and already your master saw him as a doormat.

He called himself Erastus and your master found him to be amusing to say the least. It wasn’t the first time he had done this, enjoying watching the travelers scramble to ensure a job was done. It’s not like they can refuse, the manor was far off from the nearest town. It’s either do the job or end up suffering with no resources. Erastus didn’t seem to have much struggle with the tasks but that didn’t mean he’s spared of your master’s judgment. It was never perfect and Erastus often ended up apologizing profusely to make up for his ‘incompetence’. He bows his head, ears drooping to show his guilt but his words never seem genuine. To add caution the way he stares at your master when his back turn was best described as alarming.

You had attempted to voice your worry about Erastus to your master but he just brushed it off. He didn’t see him as a threat at all and scolds you for entertaining those thoughts. Maybe you were just overthinking it but you didn’t know your gut feelings would be right until later on.

As you were doing your night duties, you went to check on your master like you always do. The lantern lit through the hallways as you arrived at the master bedroom before your breath quickens at the scene that was revealed by the light.

The light dropped to the ground with a clang. Words weren’t able to describe the mess you have come across. It seems like a fight had broken out judging by the messes. The pristine room was now just a wreckage with a messy trail of red that leads to what you believe is your master. It was hard to tell as you weren’t able to bear the sight of what remained of him.

This couldn’t be happening. This can’t be happening.

As you tried to process the scene, you felt a gloved hand cover your eyes before you could look at the gruesome scene furthermore. A familiar voice whispers to your ear that brings chills down your spine.

    “Don’t look.”
