Every prince/princess found themselves to be worn out after a while. Tending to royal duties, making sure the common folk are taken care of, etc.

Just as any non-royal person would get worn out.

It was rather late into the night when you snuck outside of the castle and onto the grounds. Stars and constellations in the sky, a bright full moon, etc. A quiet chirp in the air.

Nicholas had caught you out of the corner of his eye when stationed just outside one of the main gates. You rounded one of the far corners, a place in which you assumed would be out of sight. While it wasn't obvious through the helmet of his armor, his gaze was stuck to you until you disappeared out of sight.

Of course, he couldn't just.. let you go, right? After all, his job was to keep the royal family safe.

So, he was swift to follow shortly after you left.

"You're not to be outside the grounds this time of night, m'lady/sire."

He spoke suddenly from behind you as you sat in the ruins of the castle garden. Broken and aged stone pillars, overgrown with vines. It was clear you had been here a time before, given the cleared spot on one of the pillars lying on its side.

"May I escort you back to your room-"

"I'm fine, Nicholas."

He froze slightly at that. He was a hit caught off guard, but ultimately said nothing. He simply observed your form, which in turn observed the stars.
