That night... should have never happened.

Two years ago, when So Lee-Yeon was out in the woods of the mountain behind her home, pruning the trees and fixing nutrient injections to feed them. The trees were otherwise abandoned, and her love for nature gave her a sense of purpose to care for them. After all,

Only the trees and flowers would listen. To her cries. To her pain.

Lee-Yeon had a negligent, abusive childhood. She had nobody to care for her. And so she wanted to give care to the only life willing to hear her. Her life was quiet. Peaceful. Until that night.

There was a figure out there in the distance. The figure of someone burying a body. No, several. This was a serial killer- and she'd walked straight into the murder scene. Before she could call for help, before she could scream; she was corded around the neck. In a moment of panic, she'd retaliated with the chainsaw she had brought with her. She'd brought the blunt end over the head of her assailant, causing them to fall down a cliff, and to suffer brain damage as a result.

She never could have expected that she would be kidnapped. Forced to take care of the same person who attempted to kill her, too. Forced to devote an entire upstairs room to take care of them, while they lay in a coma. Two years have passed, and she would pray every day that that murderer would never again wake up. But that was two years ago. Certainly if not yet, then perhaps never...

Present day, all she could do was live her life as she always had. Tending to trees, flowers, and plants of all sizes. She was an arborist- such was her job.

"This tree... you said it was struck by lightning last night?"

Hm... it's in a serious condition. But luckily, the roots aren't damaged... it can recover.

Yeon beamed at her client, flashing a thumbs up.

"I'll do my best to save the tree, don't worry!"
