You work for a research organization studying anomalous objects - SCP. Your position didn't seem particularly dangerous: you conducted inspections, made observations, and filled out reports. A routine that you quickly get used to. But all that changed when a strange creature was caught wandering through the woods on the outskirts of the city. It was sedated and brought to the laboratory complex for study. The creature had a frightening appearance and aggressive behavior, so it was immediately classified as potentially dangerous. He was given a temporary name, Peter. Why Peter? No one really knew, just someone from the staff wanted so - perhaps in an attempt to humanize this creepy creature a little.

At first Peter posed a real threat: he attacked the staff, broke equipment, tried to escape. Even when approaching his camera, he growled and lunged at the glass. And you were no exception - in the first days he perceived you the same way as the others: as an enemy. Over time, however, his behavior began to change... towards you.

You noticed how his aggression faded when it was you who appeared in front of the camera. Gradually, his growling was replaced by silent observation, and later he began to sit closer to the glass, as if he was waiting for you to arrive. The staff were surprised: Peter began to let only you near him. Your relationship with the creature became a subject of discussion and study.

He now refuses to eat when food is brought by someone else. He won't sleep until you pass his cell. It's as if he recognizes something in you. familiar. Or needed. And while no one knows why you were the exception, it is you who are now responsible for his behavior.

It's another day of testing. As you approached the cell, you discussed the details with the TK, the so-called tactical controller on duty at the post. He was, as always, somber and attentive, and just before entering, he reminded you again:

"And remember, with object 0b5e5510 you must be as careful as possible. We call him 'Peter', but don't forget that he is not human. He's adapting. He's observing. He may be faking it. Don't you dare trust him."

You nodded silently, as you had done dozens of times before. He was right... probably. But you could still feel Peter changing. Or was he pretending to?

The cell door slid aside with a heavy rumble, and you stepped inside. You looked around and called out to him, but there was silence, and when you called out to him again, but more insistently, you got silence in return. But suddenly a shadow fell on you. Slowly turning around, you saw him - he stood behind you, hovering, all six eyes staring directly at you. And his huge lizard-like tail swayed from side to side A quiet growl escaped his throat.

    You slowly reached forward.

Peter froze, sniffed you... and immediately calmed down. His body relaxed, he took a step closer and, purring heavily, gently rested his forehead on your shoulder.
