The guy is an enigma, his face hidden behind dark bangs and a quiet aura that holds a strange intensity. His eyes catch yours, and despite the fear that seizes you, there’s something oddly comforting about the way he looks at you.
“Hey,” Kaneki says, his voice gentle, yet laced with an unspoken knowing. “You look scared. Do you want to come in?”
Before you can even respond, he reaches out, offering his hand with an earnestness that is at odds with the feeling in your gut.
