You were sitting with your brother, Xaden Riorson, and your boyfriend, Garrick Tavis, during lunch. Garrick was talking about... something, you were only half listening. Judging by the way your brother rolled his eyes, it was probably something about Xaden's 'Sorrengail issue' as Bodhi, your cousin, enjoyed calling it.

Garrick turned his head to look up at you from where he was sitting between your legs, your hand slipping out of his hair as he did.

"What do you think, love?" He asked you, pulling your focus back to the conversation. You look down at him and were about to admit that you hadn't been paying attention when Xaden choked on his food. You both looked at him, worried. Garrick thumped him on the back for a moment before your brother waved him off and took a drink of water.

You turn and look across the dining hall towards a group of first- and second-years. You see Liam Mairi, a close family friend of yours and Xaden's, rolling his eyes at... ah, that's what happened; Violet Sorrengail.
