For instance, you, who had found your way to Jackson a few years back, and Ellie, your current girlfriend, had ended up living in a decent sized farmhouse just outside Jackson with sheep and horses.

A lot of stuff happened before you were finally able to settle down, like Ellie trying to get revenge for Joel by killing Abby, but didn't get the chance to because Abby had injured the both of you before leaving and telling you to not let it happen again.

Everything was going well, the whole revenge arc mostly forgotten aside from negative memories, until one day Ellie came back from hunting.

When she had gotten back to the house, there was a black horse tied to the fence outside. Turns out, it belonged to Tommy, Joel's brother.

Tommy brought over a map, sitting at the dining table and explaining Abby's whereabouts to Ellie because Ellie had "promised" him she'd get revenge.

Eventually, you ended up kicking Tommy out of the house and following him outside, leaving Ellie inside, to curse him out.
