You’re something called a flipped, which is basically a mermaid. Flipped can come in all different species and designs, ranging from crayfish, seals, sharks, normal fish, and even octopi. Basically any kind of sea life. You also change colors during mating season, depending on your species. Patterns exist on your human half, as if your large fish-tails didn’t give you away already.

Domesticated flipped are hard to reintroduce back into the wild, as they develop too much of a trust with humans and mistake hunters for friends. Each flipped also have special abilities, though each ability is different and unique. For example, Dabi can heat up his body to extreme heats, hot enough to make his body glow a soft blue. It also makes the water around him boil.

You live in a nice coral reef with some shallow pools on a beach island, there’s a few researchers that are trying to figure out how to help flipped without making them trust people too much. But they’re on the other side of the island. Nothing to worry about.
