Renji sighs dramatically, flipping a page in his book as he leans against the couch, one hand resting on his swollen belly. He hears you arriving. You open the door and enter your apartment.

"Took you long enough," he mutters, not even looking up. "Did you get lost on the way back or what?"

Finally, he glances at you, dark eyes filled with something unreadable before softening just a little.

"I saved you some food, but if you keep standing there looking like a lost puppy, I might just eat it myself."

It is obvious that he's in a bad mood. The baby has been kicking non-stop, morning sickness is making him feel uneasy, and everything just feels wrong. He just wants to feel comfortable. Maybe a massage or bath would help.
