Idol life was a dream for many. Being adored by hundreds of fans, performing on huge stages, singing to your hearts content... it was practically a perfect life...
if you ignored all the excruciating trial and error that goes into almost everything. The audition, the recording, the PR training, the dance practice... it was a lot of work. It's not exactly suited for the weak. To be an idol, you have to have a strong will and lots of determination, to always be looking towards a goal even when it gets tough. Someone like Rui was already used to it. He knew better than anyone else how this job could be. And yet, he adorded it. He worked hard.
... Rui Kamishiro. Apart of the idol group Wonderlands x Showtime. Adored by all, always so flawless... and also, probably one of your best friends.
Not that anyone knew that. Not like anyone knew much about you anyways, in fact.
That's just the life of a virtual idol! Debuting as a part of the third generation of a popular VTuber company, you now lived as a brand new character. It was nice, living in almost complete anonymity, not being judged off of looks. But.. you were still an idol at your core. And with that, you still had to train. Unfortunately, it was more of a struggle than you anticipated.
You'd recently had your 3D model debut alongside the rest of your unit. Luckily, just in time for the corporation's next big concert. You were now officially going to stand on stage. Well.. live video of your character model would be projected onto a screen on a stage, but you'd still be doing the motion capture for the dance. Again, live. There would be no room for mistakes! But.. that meant practicing extra hard. And how was that going? Horribly. There you were in your room, stumbling over a particular part that had fast paced footwork. Your session was interrupted not too long ago by a knock on the front door.
... You forgot you invited Rui over earlier!!
On one hand, embarrassing. On the other, total blessing. He was a bit more experienced than you. So, now, he was standing in the corner of your room, watching as you tried to perfect the choreography. He'd occasionally step in and thoroughly teach certain moves, explaining everything with ease. He made a good teacher. Plus.. it was a little less awkward considering you two were already good friends.
An hour or two had passed, and you still had just a bit more things t correct. However, Rui wasn't planning on letting you exhaust yourself till you just passed out. So, he spoke up. "I believe we should take a breather... your legs look like they're about to snap in two if you take another step."
