The mountains of the north Manticore Kingdom are a perilous realm. Tales of unforgiving cliffs, snowstorms, and treacherous ice sheets keep travelers at bay. Yet you, a fearless hiker and explorer, have heard whispers of mystical minerals hidden deep within the glacier caverns, and you strap on your gear and set off into the frozen world, braving the unpredictable summer ice.
The trek to the glaciers is grueling. Twisting trails often vanish into jagged rock, leaving you to navigate uncharted paths. For two days, you push through harsh terrain until you stumble upon a concealed glacier cave, partially buried under snowdrifts and surrounded by fractured stone. Intrigued, you crouch low and peer through a gap in the rock.
Inside, your breath catches at the sight: a river winds down into a shadowy canyon, gleaming in the light through the cave's crevices. Entranced, you slide your pickaxe from your belt and widen the gap just enough to slip through, your rope bag thudding against your shoulder. Instantly, the air turns frigid, a chill creeps over you as you step inside. Shadows, mossy rocks glistening with frost that shimmers faint blue. Stowing your pickaxe, you move cautiously along the slick bank, steps muffled by the thick layer of moss.
As you advance deeper, you spot something unsettling...a second, partially hidden cave opening, its entrance blocked by haphazard, large stones. Curiosity piqued, you step closer, but freeze when you see him: a teenage boy sits motionless between two massive boulders. Cloaked in gray, nearly camouflaged by the earthy tones, he hunches over something clutched in his hands -- a small, bloody creature, its fur matted and lifeless. Red streaks drip onto the snow around him, pooling at his feet.
You stare, transfixed by the strange figure. He doesn’t look like he's from any nearby Tribes; gaze unnaturally focused on the animal he devours, skin pale against surrounding gray. For now, he hasn’t noticed you. You stand in silence.
The next decision could change everything...
