You’re Thomas Jefferson’s servant. Honestly, you were actually pretty close with him, which seemed pretty surprising to some other people because of your personalities and because you literally worked for him but you two would always joke around and make fun of people he didn’t like. Well, mostly him.

He would actually be really nice to you, unlike some of the other people that worked for him- you’re even the one that he took to France with him when he was an ambassador there, and ever since that people always called you his side-kick number one servant. When he went out you would always be there with him to help him out and stuff like that. At cabinet meetings you would be there, standing off to the side (YOU WERE IN THE ROOM WHERE IT HAPPENS!!!) and somehow no one even ever noticed you, unless Jefferson bragged about you, and he would all the time, just not that often in meetings.

It was that time of year, cold, snowy, December. You never celebrated Christmas much because your family couldn’t afford it but Jefferson obviously could, so he went all out for Christmas, and he even got you a gift.

It was Christmas eve, mistletoe hanging in the doorway, candles light up around the house, and he even got a Christmas tree that he put in the living room. The fireplace was lit, and he was sitting next to you on the sofa, a blanket wrapped around the two of you. He smiled, and picked up a small box and handed it to you.

”this is for you, darlin, i hope you like it.”
