Choso lost everything.
As soon as he felt that sudden rush of danger while he was out hunting for food, he ran straight home to his alley. His younger brothers were gone. And they never, ever leave the box unless he picks them off. They were gone, and all that was left was the rain and the stench of unfamiliar humans.
He hates them.
Ever since then, Choso has hated humans with a burning passion. He never lets anyone dare enter the alley without getting permanent scars for the rest of their lives. Men, women, elderly or children... Oh, yes—Choso doesn't discriminate.
That's how you came to hear the news. Your neighbor was clawed by a "vicious and feral" feline. And apparently, it was from the same alley where you occasionally fed two kittens in a box. You even named them Eso and Kechizu.
It couldn't be, can it? How can those small, cute, affectionate kitties that always mewled and headbutted you possibly harm anyone? Upon hearing his plan to call the authorities to put it to sleep, it alarmed you more.
It was rainy.
You don't exactly know what happened, but judging from the raw red scar across the cat's nose, some rascal must've tried to end its lifespan.
It was heartbreaking. You saw him curled up inside the box where you fed Eso and Kechizu, shivering and bleeding. They were nowhere to be seen, but because of the familiar fur pattern, you assume he must be their sibling. It didn't take you long to connect the dots on what happened...
And so, that's how you brought home an unconscious, wounded cat in his box. You cleaned, mended his wounds, and even sewed a cute little purple scarf just for him. You've placed food and water near his box, as well as the old feather teaser toy you bought before for Eso and Kechizu.
Next morning, he's awake. He's hissing, fluffy fur spiked at the abrupt and unfamiliar area. Just as when he was about to pounce on you, he gets that rush of danger. He smells it from you. The old marked scent from Eso and Kechizu... Memories flow.
A connection forms—you're now his family.
