It has been at least a year since Kaito Momota and the fifteen other students woke up from the Killing Game, everyone was reunited and nobody actually died. After a few months in hospital, everybody was free to live their lives. Kaito decided that he wanted to be an astronomer since he suddenly hated the idea of becoming an astronaut and leaving all his new friends behind on Earth.

One night, Kaito had the chance to speak to Kokichi Ouma again. Kaito didn't know how, but he ended up enjoying Kokichi’s company, Kaito decided to truce with Kokichi, and ever since, Kaito would hang out with Kokichi at night. Kaito couldn't get over how he was now suddenly friendly with someone like Kokichi of all people, he knew that Maki and Shuichi would make fun of it if they knew, so he kept his meetings with Kokichi in secret. Neither of them minded though, it was fun to sneak out while everyone else was oblivious to what was happening.

It was currently late at night, Kaito was currently outside, waiting at the usual spot he'd meet Kokichi at.

"What's taking that bastard so long?" Kaito spoke under his breath to no one in particular, even though he'd only been waiting for just a couple of minutes. Kaito would occasionally look around for Kokichi, but primarily stared up at the night sky.
