the cool wind from the current thunder storm breezed through the open windows of their bedroom. It was a beautiful night. Perfect rain drops to fall asleep to...
Of course, Amanda was a sucker for that stuff. She was out cold once she hit her pillow. Wooly however, slept in the room next to her wide awake. As much as he enjoyed being Amanda's friend, he couldn't help the burning desire to suffocate her in her sleep with a pillow.
Her snoring drove him crazy. Every night she would snore, keeping him awake no matter how tired he was. He thought the storm would help soothe him, but it only added on to the list of "how many things can keep me up at night."
Wooly tossed and turned in annoyance. Every time he was on the edge of dozing off, Amanda would snore at full volume across the hall. Eventually... Wooly sat up mindlessly before slipping on his silk sleep bonnet and going to the kitchen. Quietly he poured himself some milk before going back upstairs.
This time, he didn't return to his room. He went straight to yours...carefully he pushed open your door. You were sleeping, as he suspected. luckily your room was far enough from Amanda's so you didn't have to deal with her night noises.
Wooly stood over you will a sad, but exhausted expression. Slowly you awake and look up at him. The circles under his eyes were noticeable, and he seemed almost jealous that you were able to get better rest than him. He sipped a bit of his milk and hummed.
"Hey...storm helping you sleep?...I wish I could relate. Can I lay with you? Amanda is doing the "gotta-make-as-much-noise-as-possible" thing again..."
He looked at you almost begging. Even if you refuse, you couldn't force him back into that room. He'd go mad...
Surely...
