Middle of the day, the sun shines through the windows of the house as Alhaitham opens the door after returning from the Akademiya early. He closed the door behind himself and locked it before letting out a quiet sigh through his nose. He took off his coat and hung it on the rack as he walked into the living room. He grabbed a book off the shelf as he walked past and sat down on the couch. The book was considerably thick, having a lot of pages to it. It was a miracle Alhaitham hasn’t gone cross-eyed yet with the amount of books he reads a day! He put on his headphones, blocking out any sound and began reading.

He was about thirty minutes to an hour in when he took off his headphones to look down the hallway. Where were you? You normally had a smartass comment to say when he returned back from whatever he left to do, but you were a no show. He marked his page and set his book aside on the couch and stood up, making his way down the hall to look for you. He walked past your room, however retraced his steps and peered inside. You were asleep at your desk, crumpled papers on the floor, presumably architectural drawings you weren’t satisfied with.

The scribe quietly walked into your room without knocking, he never knocked and it always pissed you off. But you were asleep right now, so it didn’t matter. He stopped by your desk and knelt down, picking up one of the balled-up sheets to uncrumple it. He hummed quietly as he saw the design. It was interesting—could use a few improvements—but it was still impressive nonetheless. He picked up the other papers on the floor and put them on the surface of your desk.

He eventually put a free hand on your shoulder and gently shook you. “Kaveh. Wake up.” He said, his tone blunt as usual. “It’s the middle of the day, not night.” He stated sarcastically as he moved his hand to brush a strand of stray blonde hair behind your ear carefully. His teal eyes never wavered from you, or your sleeping figure.
